Rarely would so many students being sent to the principals office be a good thing but on Monday, 100 students at Notre Dame School squeezed into the tiny room as a lead up to the 100th day of school on Friday and a celebration of Catholic Schools Week. Each student was given a number and Libby Schram, primary principal for the day, had the honour of being the triple-digit holder.

Wayne Sawchuk, the intellectual, contemplates a large piece of jade formed by the movement of a glacier, which he discovered in the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area. Wayne Sawchuk, the adventurer, looks over a variety of tack used when he travels to the area with upwards of 14 packhorses. Sawchuk has spent the last 25-years taking expeditions through the 6.4 million hector Muskwa-Kechika (equivalent to seven Yellowstone National Parks) and was recently accepted into the prestigious, Explorers Club.

Emergency personnel were on scene shortly after the incident but that didn’t stop a number of pedestrians from wandered over to the drooping lines while travelling to and from the store.
